MAZURKA This one just might be my favorite abstract of all time. Let me explain why. Many sculptures look good from just one direction or two. Not this one! It just changes and changes. It's like having ten sculptures. The shadows that travel across each panel are also instrumental to its existence, and there are some surprises in the shadows! Walking around the sculpture, there's something very familiar to the shape of each piece, and you find yourself trying to figure out what each one means. It boggles my mind, and I made it. If you're really into abstract sculpture, consider this one. About the name, Mazurka. The word is of Russian derivation and it connotes a wild folk dance in triple time. When you see it in the flesh you know that it couldn't be named anything else.
