HIGH TIDE High Tide: On our first trip to San Francisco, we got in late. But then we got up early and walked down to the beach to see the sunrise. Well,we waited quite a while... Actually my most enjoyable experiences with the Pacific growing up were from a couple of Steinbeck's "little" novels, Cannery Row, and Sweet Thursday. Great books, by the way. Steinbeck, even when he was just having fun, wrote wondrously about the Pacific. This is meant to capture a bit of his literary magic with Doc clambering around in the tidal pools searching for octopi.
